Goals for 2010

Overseas School of Colombo follows the IB Diploma Programme. For this programme, CAS hours is an important part. There is a criterion which needs to be fulfilled.

My goals for this year are written below:

  • I've been playing the piano for a couple of years now. This year in October, I'll be taking the Grade 6 Piano and Theory Exam. At the moment, the three pieces that I have to play don't have enough expression in them. By the end of the month my goal is to improve the quality of my piece by including the right type of expressions for the 3 different types of pieces. This will be counted as Creativity.
  • I've started MUN as an after school activity, this is the first time that i'm doing MUN in OSC. My goals this year is to:
    • gain more confidence in public speaking
    • being more confident in what i'm saying
    • improve my knowledge about current events around the world
This is counted as Creativity and Action.
  • I like helping out with Backstage work. I will be working backstage for the upcoming "Versus Cancer" Concert organized by Hope for Kids. I'll be doing backstage by helping with the lighting. My goal is to learn more about the lighting equipment at OSC and to help out with the Cancer Concert.
  • Every Tuesday after school, I am also helping paint/draw the set for the primary play. My goal is to learn how to work big by learning how to paint backdrops with appropriate shading, improving my artistic skills, because I'm a Chemistry student.
  • Thursday after school, i'm helping out in the library. Working in the library had made me realise what each no. on the edge of the books stands for. I am also more aware about the different types of non fiction books and resources which are available. My goal is to get to know the library better by knowing where to find books about each topic.
  • I've started SAISA football, to improve my football skills.
