Walking back from the carnival
On children's day the One World Volunteer decided to do something for the orphanage home in Dehiwala. So we took them to a carnival close by. They usually don't have such a playing environment, therefore they were very intrigued about this environment. Planning and initiating this activity took a lot of work because of the prior permission that had to be gotten from the teachers in the orphanage. However we were able to do this and it was very successful. Usually the children that we interacted with were inside their school. However for the first time we took them out. This developed new skills because we had to make sure that the children were always with us when crossing the road and walking on the side.
