Christmas Eve-Playing with the Kids from World Vision!

There is no better way I could have spent New Years Eve! Playing with these kids was alot of fun!:) We, the one world volunteers, had to plan and initiate the activities that we did on this day. These were playing cricket, and tag with the children, then taking them to the beach. Playing in the water at the beach, and then singing and dancing. I showed perseverance and commitment in the activities that were conducted. This is because whenever a problem arose we always had a way to fix them. Like when there was a shortage of one type of food, one of us went and bought more in the nearby shop. These kids, as mentioned in previous posts have come from traumatized backgrounds, therefore we found it importance to make sure that on New Years Eve, we did whatever we could do to make them smile. Therefore, I engaged with issues of global importance.  Before taking the students out, especially to the beach, we had a meeting to discuss what we are allowed to do, and what we are not. Especially how far into the water that they are allowed and that we should always be with the two children who were allocated to us. Therefore I considered the ethical implications of my actions. This is service.
